Privacy Policy

Draft — this is a working template, not final legal copy. It should be reviewed by a lawyer before launch.
1. Overview
This policy explains what information BuyFoodTogether collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run group buys.
2. Information we collect
Account information (name, email) provided when you sign in; group-buy and order details you create or place; and basic technical data such as device and usage information needed to operate and secure the service. When payments launch, payment processing is handled by our provider — we do not store full card numbers.
3. How we use information
To operate group buys, connect organizers and buyers, communicate about orders and your account, keep the service secure, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Sharing
Organizers see the order details buyers place in their group buy. We share information with service providers (for example hosting and, when enabled, payments) only as needed to run the service, and where required by law.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the site. We default to the most privacy-preserving options and avoid non-essential tracking.
6. Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request.
